The biggest part of the job is getting the old mid control shifter rod out.  Many leave it there and just put a cover on it.  If you leave the old shifter rod there the job is very easy and would cost you much less.  5 hours sounds right for the full job, without the shifter rod I'd say it would take less than 1 hour.

haha, see Zanotties were fast and cheap huh!?? Now ur still fucked tho, Gold.

my Team Thailand mates can prob do you quite cheap.

If not.... well perhaps you need research some non-dealership guys and get a quote, e.g. South Coast Customs.

I've got ur mobile, if i can help will txt u. Punk. Cheers.

Re-reading my post, I do presume you know what I mean by Thai, and I also mean they will "do" your motorcycle.

Kingchops is on the money. If you know how to use a socket set do it yourself and be proud that you did something to customise your bike yourself.

Most of these kits come complete, "So Glasshopper "Bolt off, Bolt on"

If you do long rides try leaving the mid pegs on, then you can stand up and stretch your legs while riding.

I had my forwards fitted by the local dealer, only $200. Worth shopping around at that price.

local stealers will charge anything up to five or six hundred.... if you are not comfortable doing the job yourself then look for a privte mechanic who works on Harleys.... you might just find his rates are half the price

Hey Galloway, do it yourself buddy, don't worry about removing the inner primary ect, I just left the shifter shaft in and wedged the mid lever behind a bolt on the case.  When the day comes that I have to remove the primary cover for something else I'll finish it off then. There is also an alternative to removing the shifter shaft without removing the primary and that is to stick a hacksaw up  the gap between the primary and case and cut it off and then pull the shaft out if ya keen.

yeah what they said, leave the old shaft in, i made a bracket for mine that bolts it to the back of cranckcase,(all hidden away) and made a cap to cover the spline. 2 hour job (or about 6 beers).
remove the shaft from the primary if you ever have to take that apart down the track

Eventually got them fitted.. Went to another Sydney dealer who quoted me $350 - $400 to fit them.. Compared to the $590.00 my local dealer wanted...

I went back to the original dealer and they immediately dropped their price to match... Apparently they wanted to keep my “valuable business”

WELL WHY TRY TO RAPE ME IN THE FIRST PLACE YOU PACK ON MONGRELS!!!!!!!... Okay so I’ve got that off my chest.

Very happy with the result as much more comfortable riding position.

So it pays to shop around.
