I am riding to Melb and return in August 2010, the first part of my trip will be as part of the annual border run with some mates leaving on Fri 6 Aug.
I will then leave the border on the morning of Sun 8 Aug heading for firstly Geelong and then I will go to the other side of Melb to the small town of Garfield, stay a week with my old man and tehn return.
What I am after is a good route from Pt Augusta to Tailem Bend. Would it be quicker to go through Adelaide or some other route??
Thanks
Bob
After you rest -up, feast, and drink yourself merry at our place (Northern approaches to Adelaide) I will escort you the best way to Murray Bridge via the Hills.
Have a safe trip mate.
lol i know what tanks they are...sounds like we may have some tall storys to swap...i was in c sqn 1ar when we got the leopards...77 i think it was. i am planning on a shakedown run towards albany next week, to test my metal before jumping in with both feet for the pudding run....my two weeks off starts thurs this week, so i will be home just in time for the border run. i also plan on getting a trailer and setting myself up for regular east west runs
Well Winnie we sure will have some stories to tell because I was in C Sqn 1 AR then!!! I was Cpl at the time, was 1 of the first crews to do the cross training on to Leopard, Woomera in '77 etc. Be good to catch up with you. Drop me a PM and we will swap details. See you at the border as well .
