I know the Iron comes out with mid controls but I have seen them with forward controls, can anyone tell me if moving the foot controls it a big job? Any info on how it's done would be great.
Its easy done, I did it the other way on my 05 Sportsta Custom, I find the mid mounts to be a more comfortable riding position over longer distances, but the forwards sort of can look better, especially with wider & higher bars than standard.
Just get your forwards then take off the mids & you will see how the forward controls fit. It would take a mechanic at the max an hour to do it.
Hellfish I just got back from a medium pace run on rough tar through a national park that shook the fillings out of my teeth. I'd have broken my back from the jarring if I'd had forwards. What about highway pegs and keep the mids for when you need to take some weight on the pegs?
Hellfish, dollars permitting I'm going to look at a Fat Bob in July and, because of parking and money, will need to sell the Iron. It's a 2010 with 3500 ks on it. Extras since these shots include a Licks solo bag brought in from the USA. Just letting you know as I'm not putting it on the market yet in case I change my mind but if you are interested just let me know.
Thanks for the heads up, yeah I could be interested, let me know when you've made a decision on selling and we'll go from there.
Cheers.
