Vance and Hines Quiet Baffles - too restrictive???

G'day fellas, just got my quiet baffles in the mail today for my V&H straight shot slip-ons and they look way too restrictive with that sealed off front end cap..... just wondering how much it will hurt performance?

Should I run them as is?  Or should I drill out a 5c size hole in that end cap to allow more exhaust flow?

Thanks for any advice.  Sorry, the picture is so big. ..

I guess they are called "quiet baffles" , and for that style of pipe, it's hard to cut noise any other way.
I bet they'll still be plenty loud when on the gas, but allow you to sneak around when neaded !
Might cost a few HP, but only way up top.

I would give them a trail run first Berms as there's plenty of holes in the baffles to breath out the exhaust. If you not happy you can drill a hole in them and if they sound like shit its easy to plug them again with a metal disc and spot weld. They will give you back pressure and help with the bottom end torque

Yeah...but just comparing them to the std baffle (which is almost a straight through pipe )  it seems like there's no way these quiet baffles could flow enough exhaust? It might help bottom end TQ by providing a lot of back pressure - but I dont want to sacrifice mid-upper end HP/TQ?

Maybe if I drill a central hole in the restrictive end cap it will be the best of both worlds???

They're still WAY less restricted than the stock HDI mufflers we get here in Australia.

Prolly best to try them "as-is"

The Khrome Werks slip-ons I have on my '08 are straight thru's, you can see daylight uninterrupted all the way through, but they are LOOOONG compared to the baffles in yer photies !!

Yes they are much shorter than the std V&H baffles they come with.

Do you think they will compromise performance?  I'm putting new SE 204 cams in and getting a custom map on the dyno and dont want the pipes to be the "weak link" and hold me back in performance.

I've got 'em, they sound better than the std V&H baffles and in my opinion bike goes better now too with a bit more back pressure.
