New to Harleys.......I notice a screeching  sound when excelerating in top gear...but doesn't seem to be there when excelerating through the gears????....any ideas....2005 superglide...

Fusion, there are 2 common problems causing this for bike riders.

1) It's your conscience mate, notice it was louder over the long weekend? That's due to double demerits buddy.

2) Could just be windnoise, check if eminating from your Septum, if so re-adjust cocaine usage or keep the rig under 90klms.

Ha Ha.....Glad to hear it was only windnoise from septum and not rectum lol......thats more of a boom badda boom sound.....your probably right ....new bike paranoiya.....putting in for service next monday....see what the mechanic says or maybe just look at his expression when I go to pick it up ha ha...

You hit that on the head Hound_Dog ha ha ....she wanted to get a helmet to helmet set up but I said .....Thats the whole idea of it ...to listen to the motor and enjoy the scenery lol.....
That could be it too...labouring the motor ...excelerating in top from to low a speed maybe...
