Dont know if this is relevant but I will tell you anyway, a guy I know at work went to the local rally (State one) and was a member and had piaded his fees, he was told that he couldnt enter due to the fact he didnt register, and that pretty much sums up the local HOGGIES, me I dont care if i want to ride I ride any one that tells other bike riders that they are not welcome is stupid if you ask me, riding bikes is a lifestyle the more the better.

I havent had much to do with them myself, had memberships with new bikes etc but thats about it havent been on a HOG run but been on sunday rides with HOG members, so I dont really know my policy is ride what you got and your all welcome, couldnt care less who or what u r, :-)

What turned me off joining the local local HOG Chapter?    The sale reps at the nearest dealer were a bunch of C##ts and i had the impression that I wouldn't fit 'cos I'm a Tradesman (Time Served).  I ride with another club anyway that's mostly  Metric. Would like to give HOG a go but if the reception was like gonna be like anything I experienced from the Sales reps (and they're not even that) at the sponsoring dealer......FORGET IT.

    Hey Kiteman,

Has the sun set in the west yet?

However, I can say I belong to a HOG.  I go to meetings every now and then.  Plus ride with them as an average at least once every two weeks.  Having said that. I also ride with HDA members equally so if not a bit more.  I enjoy both parts of the world of HD riding.  People are people.  We all have failings.  But in the end we a simply all trying to do our best in a funny, funny world.

Better have another glass of red

    Cheers Big Ears.

please disrgard my post above the point i was trying to make (poorly) was that all he wanted to do was come in for 20 mins and take some pics not go to the whole rally blah blah blah, the bottom line for me is that for anyone that rides it should be encourged we should not be putting up barriers to those that show interest and want to see some of the stuff, any group that by decision or unintentionally make division or exclude people doesnt really get the meaning of freedom for all. and this was all i meant in the orig post.

I dont really care what the HOG club does I meant it in general, I only mention this cos I heard it at work last week and it seemed relevant? maybe it wasn't

thats my rant over so please disregrad my posts and I will let others share there ideas on HOG.

Four of us parked up in little country town with our wifes , just taking a break , for a drink and a smoke , we hear the distant thunder of motorbikes rumbling , see 30-40 bikes coming through the town , They were going well below the speed limit at the front all bare chested with his sleevless denim jacket , glistening with badges , well earned from there sunday morning jaunts , and his GEEERMAN helmit , rode the leader followed closely by a rag tag bunch of weekend warriors on there new scoots , , all looking super cool has they rode past , with there practised sneers ,

our wifes all being seasoned pillion riders , and very curteous , all gave the , rampaging gang a wave has they rode past , Only to be met with a sneer and no wave back ,

Upon seeing this , all 4 husbands , looked at each other not believing what we seen and without any practice we all said at the excact same time has we burst out laughing . FUCKING HOG CLUB .

Not my cup of tea ,

WOW this thread has taken off, i may as well put in my 2 bobs worth, i have never been involved with hog in anyway but know a few hoggies and they are great guys, to get back to the original question, dude.....like all similar club's it depends on the members and the persons running the show what the chapter is actually like, why not hang out with em for a ride or 2 then make up ya own mind, one of the guy's i know was proud to be involved but when they had a change of commitee he said the whole thing went to shit.

I have been hanging with Adelaide HOG's for the past couple of rides/bbq'a and I cant praise them enough - they welcomed me and after I had my accident, two members of the club called me to see if I was ok and gave me postive encouragement to get back on the bike (alot of people on here have also given me positive ensouragement and I thank them) and dont let one incident spoil the experience. Like the other's said give it a go and see how it pans out.
