Looking to put some side shots on my softtail. There is a set for a dyna on ebay. What is the difference, will they fit the different model? Is it just the mounting kit that is different?

That is a hard question to answer as there are many variables, It depends a lot on the brand and style of pipe,  Sometimes there is not too much of an issue, and just mounting brackets need to be fabricated up. But there are some that will not fit other models, the things to look for is whether the bike they were made for had mid-controls or forward controls as sometimes they can foul in that area. also the rear pipe on a softail usually comes out a lot straighter than other models which need a sharp curve to miss the oil tank. To give you an example,  I had a pair of Softail pipes on my FXR for a while which worked well, but they were ones where the rear pipe came out and immediately bent around to go forward and then turn sharply to join up for a 2-1 system, but normally most softail ones wont fit on an FXR, because an FXR has the oil tank right behind the rear jug. I hope I havent confused you, but as I said it is not easy to answer, just check a few things out and you may be lucky, you may not.

Thanks mate. Ive been talking with a few different people about this and get mixed messages so I think it will be safer to just wait until some softy pipes are about.
