Rear breaks missing spacer?

Was about to wash the bike and noticed this

Notice the second pic where it seems a spacer missing is on an angle. Is this meant to be or shall I get back to the stealer quick smart. I have slightly locked up when a cager decided to change lanes without a head check but otheriwse the breaks seem ok to me.

    Cheers

Is this similar to a floating disc?

mate...as the pad wears it moves along that rod...  dont go sticking spacers in there...

IF the pad is wearing uneven, check that the rod on the other side is not catching in the pad hole?..

but it looks ok to me...

    Alfie,
The pad assembly on the right is supposed to be able to slide back and forth on the pin. As Wozza said DON'T go sticking anything in there.
The assembly may be sticking slightly on the pin and not moving freely, I had a similar thing happen on my Shovel and just de-burred the
holes in the pad assembly. Don't put any lubricant (oil,WD-40 etc ) on the pin or pad assembly as it may affect your braking ability.
Don't laugh, it may sound stupid of me to remind you that lubricants and brakes don't mix, but I had a mate who once sprayed his discs with
WD-40 so they wouldn't rust. He is still alive and rides with a Bible Club, which may prove God does have a sense of humour.
    Ride safe,
    Cris

Wozza and Don cheers for your feedback. It makes sense to what you guys have said why it's like that and I will deff not be putting WD40 near my breaks!!!!
