Funny thing i seen tonight ,I was riding home from Epping and i split the lane at the lights to get pole. On the left a new mini and to my right a sv8 ve Dunnydoor, I took off pretty hard and got a good leed sitting on a dollar forty, sv8 came flying past me with the mini sitting on his ass, AS we got to the overtaking lane the mini passed this sv8,And left it 4 dead, I was just under 180 and they were still going, Thinking of the roos in the area i backed off, Still seeing there tail lights i could see the mini pulling away. I know these things a quick but i thought the v8 would leave it 4 dead.
I caught up to the ve and he gave me I dont think he was happy
Most likely an SV6 with V8 badging. Holden did not produce the SV8 in the VE, they went back to the SS as the base range for the V8. The VE SV6 are rated at 195 kw (20kw more than the VE Omega) and if an auto, it has the 5L40E 5 speed but if a manual they are using the 6 speed AY6 box. They are pretty heavy at 1.735 kg (the mini 1100kg) so not surprised the Mini pulled away. also the mini could have been modded. The VE 6.0 litre L98 in the SS puts out 270kw stock at the fly wheel with a 6 speed auto or 6 speed T56 manual, I think the outcome would have been different in that scenario.
