Gidday Phantom, My 2 cents, Means all to me and diddly squat to everyone else but;
My first bike was a 2001 FLSTC, loved it, did up what I could afford to, loved it, did I say that all ready.
Divorce came along, gave enough quid for the Maggots to buy, hmmm half a brand new bike, and came out with jack shit and some big bills.
Had enough left after settlement to buy an 87 FXSTC, fresh from the states with 19000 klicks on it, all original. I would love to have the extra cubes the Heritage had. I would have loved to get the 2003 silver and black heritage that (is ceiling cat watching) I have thought about a lot!!
This bike is now 23 years old. I have all the original bits packed away. and have customised it accordingly to my taste but also unfortunatley to my wallet.
I drool over some of the other bikes on the forum and at shows (is that cat still watchin) but u know what? I cant see myself on another bike. I really do love this bike. And I think that if you dont have that with what u ride now go for it, trade up. Maybe this is over the top and a bit mushy, maybe it has let me down on occasion, but i fukn luv this bike. Burnzi
Only 1 answer there mate u gotta have both.
The roadie is exquisite and shows a life of love and affection
The softail is (sniff, weep, sniff just like my softails younger, sexier, faster and prettier sister) sorry I gotta go, I think I need a hug. sniff
LOL good luck with ur decision. Ur gunna be smilin either way I reckon.
Try selling the RK privately or through Heavy Duty in Brisbane on commission. If you miss out on this Softail, there will always be others coming through, or buy one and trick it yourself. It's a hard question when you get fixated on a bike...I've been there many times, at least once a year....We'd all be bored shitless if we didn't have these diversions in lfe....beagle
I reckon this sort of thing happens about the start of winter. When we start spending our time looking at mags and showrooms because it's too cold and wet to ride*
* Waits for abuse about being a soft prick
Ya soft prick....
You know what Phantom....
Come around on Sat and we can have a chat about my new bike and an ice cream.
We can then go over your bike in real, triple chocolate detail. Check every bit if bling you have.
I can then send you on your way, you go home, spend the next umpteen hours polishing off the candy sprinkles, and you will remember what it is you, and me, and nearly every person who has eyeballed your bike, love about it.
What say mate
Phantom, Unless that softail comes with the girl in your now removed avatar...you better be joking
cheers Surly
