Want to know if the slip on's are worth while putting on or go the full system. 

With slip on's does it need a power tuner? The workshop guy at Harley says YES otherwise won't get full performance and probably popping. $1290 all up fitted.

Alfie, i must say, that is a sweet looking ride man, i like the colour and the whitewalls mate,  As for pipes, mate i had S&S slash cut slip ons on my '07 fatty, I had put an Arlen Ness Big Suck air filter on it. I actually liked the sound and the peformance, there was a lot of de'cel' popping though. I found the pipes had to come off to the remove the back wheel. Payed for the 1st one to be done, done the 2nd one meself, never again. I shopped around and decided on the V&H Bigshots, I had to put a fuel managment system on it, so i went with a RideMax system. I havn't heard of anyone else using this system, i did post a little review on another page.  Everyone has their own preference mate, i put on what I wanted , not because that's what old mate down the road has. If you have the standard air filter still on, you can put different pipes on i'm lead to believe. At the end of the day mate, what ever you choose, someone would have done it different. Best of luck mate, unfortunately what ever you decide, it'll cost you bucks. I often wonder if the HD actually stands for hundred dollar,but i love it

Alfie, I think it depends if you think you will get a full system later down the track, no point spending good money twice...

Almost everyone I know starts with slipons then goes to a full system... Im sure you will easily get a full system for that sort of coin & fit it yaself

From what I've seen, a tuner isnt required with pipes alone, but you will definately need it with a performance filter, coz as FatBoy Mick said, it will be pop of its tits

As far as choice of tuner I got a SERT but if I knew then what I know today,

Hi Alfie, My baby is an '08 FLSTC with a T'max and V&H straight shot slipons, I was qoted AU$780 from the stealers for the slipons and purchased them from mandm.com in Ohio for AU$420 incl. quiet baffles and delivered door to door in 5 days (freight included), I purchased the T'max on this site (new) for $600...she sounds sensational and goes like the clappers....I have learned to tune the T'max with Scotty's help...they are sensational. the only other mod. is the high flow S/E kit....have fun experimenting.............j
