G'Day guys. Quick question. In NSW if a bike has been out of rego for like 10-15 years what is the procedure to get it re-regoed? Is it just a blue slip or does it have to be taken to an RTA inspection station? Cheers and thanks for any advice.
I recently re registered my '81 Sturgis. It had been unregistered for 5 years. You'll need the last rego papers and have a blue slip inspection to very VIN/ Engine numbers and road worthiness and have them complete the relevant section of the RTA application for Rego for an unregistered bike. This is as Bano has advised above.
When you go to the RTA to pay rego and get new plate you need to have the last rego paper, the old plate (if not surrendered) and of course your 3rd party insurance receipt. Note that you can not get 3rd party insurance on an unregistered bike without going to the insurer's office or an agent (eg bike shop). Your blue slip inspection provider will probably have provided the slip to the RTA electronically
Hope this helps.
