hi would like to know if anyone else has had problems with bottoming out when riding with a pillion?. any suggestions on which after market shocks would help to reduce this problem. have changed the front fork oil and springs which seem to have worked on the front

i have adjusted the preload settings when i have pillion, but the roads (gov funded goat tracks) here in QLD are not the best. With both the wife and me on the bike we total about 130kgs, so when the preload setting is set any from 3 to 5 it feels like we are going to get thrown over the front bars every time we hit a bump

when the springs are set on the lowest setting they bottom out. one click up is kinda ok with one rider, sometimes bottoms out with two on the bike. from three cliks up the bike becomes stiffer and if i hit a sharp bump or dip in the road it feels like the rear of the bike is being driven through my spine, even worse when there is a pillion. a better seat may take some of the sharpness away and provide a more comfortable ride on longer trips or with a pillion. as for the front i'm using progressive springs with 15wt oil, had 20wt to start with but was to stiff. would like to hear from anyone that has different shocks on eg: brand, settings etc
