Just saw this ad in the Age today in the MC & scooters section Page 27
URGENT SALE FLSTF Fatboy 2008 mod, silver, 4,000km, HR069 $10,900 ph 86218926 there is an email address, zztop@aussiemail.com.au
My guess is that it will not be around for long if I was in Melb I would go & pick it up & then sell my Sporty (maybe) or onsell it after riding it a bit.
If it's in multiple interstate papers it's definitely a con job. You wouldn't need extensive advertising at THAT price! Why can't these pricks get a real job and stop shaking down honest working people.
I sent them an email - told them I have cash and want to buy it today! This is there responce Lets play for a couple of emails
Thank you for the interest showed in my bike, and sorry for the late reply but I have just moved to New Zealand with my job. Don't worry though, the bike is still there in Australia, stored at a transport company in NT. This bike was left to me in my uncle's will, and to be honest I never owned a bike before and I don't even have a driver license, but I can assure you it runs as great as it looks, my uncle was all about his bike, took great care of it. The price I am asking is $10.900 and it includes shipping anywhere in Australia. Because of this situation, me being in NZ, I have made special arrangements that allow me to sell the bike there without me being present, so if you are still interested in it please email me back so I can explain to you how can this be done without me being there, safely for both of us. thank you PS: Here are more pics of the motorcycle, click on the link to see the album: 2008 Harley-Davidson FLSTF FatBoy: http://s892.photobucket.com/albums/ac121/cjmaher8/ Get back to me soon as I have others verry interested in the bike as well
I sent them an email as well, but no reply. They must have sold it to firey.
I have sent off an email, or two, with replies. The first one was as seen above. The next one was
Before leaving Australia I have prearranged the deal with AlertPay https://www.AlertPay.com, so that there will be no need for me to be there! I will need your full name, shipping address and phone number so I can register the transaction with Alertpay, after that they will contact you with the payment details. You will make a 50% deposit directly to AlertPay and they will hold the money secure until you receive and inspect the motorcycle for 5 days. The shipping will start right after Alertpay will receive your deposit, and it is paid by me! If you decide that after inspecting it you want to return it, than they will ship it back without any expenses for you and they will refund your money in 24h, but if you decide to keep it than the money will be transferred to me and you will have to pay the rest of the balance. I am waiting for a quick response since I have 2 other people very interested in the bike as well cheers
The next one
VIN: 5HD1BX5138Y038108 Engine number: BX58038108 Plate number: HR069 State of registration: VICTORIA Registration expiry date: 29/03/2011
The next one his phone number in New Zealand: +64 (03) 669 0316 which he did answer but promptly told us, apart from a heap of "bullshit" that there was another buyer who had offered more than his asking price. It has since been advertised in various papers & websites. How do we go about reporting him and who to?
I also contacted Alertpay. This was their reply
AlertPay is an internet payment processing service the facilitates secure instant payments and does not offer escrow services or hold merchandise. Both the buyer and the seller must register their own AlertPay account and supply a valid email address to send and receive money.
Members must then deposit money into their own accounts using one of our available deposit methods. Once there are funds in the member’s AlertPay account, a member can send money to another member’s account using a valid email address. The transfer of funds is initiated by a member, not AlertPay. Once the payment appears in the receiver's "Available Balance", the funds can be withdrawn using one of our withdrawal methods.
This bike really gets around, and so does the owner... Sun, May 3, 2009 at 10:46 PM Hi there, I am really sorry I haven't been able to answer sooner, but I've been busy, I've just moved to England. Don't worry though, the bike is still there in Australia, I left it at a shipping company in Stuart Park, N.T. The price I am asking it includes shipping anywhere in Australia. The bike has been left to me in a will by my uncle, I am not a bike fan, never had one, don't even have a licence to drive, but I can tell you the bike runs perfectly, it is fully paid, no accidents. If you are still interested, than please email me back so I can explain how can this be done without me being in Australia! Cheers
Maybe we ought to give him 3050 opportunities to reply to 'potential buyers' and see how many different answers we get.

I'm still playing with this prick - post up when something happens - any suggestions about what I call him!!! I will use them
He just asked me if I can come to pick it up in the Nt today - I said I will tomorrow
I think that the media have something to explain as well....they are aiding and abetting fraud, a few simple checks should prove that this is a scam... I suppose as long as the prick pays for the ad. it's OK....
Bt
Hmmnnn that would be interesting aswell Firey.
I sent them an email & got the NZ email & also a photobucket link to some pics http://s892.photobucket.com/albums/ac121/cjmaher8/?action=view¤t=2.jpg looks like the name maybe cjmaher8. & he has had 553 visits to his site. Now there are a few organizations being used here in this scam, The Age in Melb, probably Murdoch press & Photobucket. HD Aust may be queried to see if the engine no supplied has an owners name to it just to see if that leads anywhere. There should be enough electronic trail that the internet cops could track down.
