Water/moisture in transmission

I took the bike along for its 16,000km service and the mechanic found there to be water/moisture in the tranny oil. He said we must live in a high moisture area but we dont, and he asked whether we had been caught in heavy rain which we had.I am not overly worried about it but just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. He said the moisture gets sucked into the tranny breather pipe.  Although I was quite happy running H.D. mineral oil I have changed to Amsoil synthetic as he said it has good water dispersant qualities. I always change the oils more regularly than need be and this proves to me it is a wise option.  It is the first time I have taken the bike to this mechanic and the first time I have had no drama's.  So if you live on the sunshine coast QLD try Z-BIKES UNLIMITED and talk to ZANE PH 54377793 no I am not related just happy with the service.

Yeah Wozza,I cant see why not ? everything needs cleaning.  But its a bit of a worry when you can't ride in the rain without filling your tranny with water ?? Am I the only one this has happened to ??

Most of the time the water gets in through after market clutch cables especially if they don't have a clear coat on them.
