Bairnsdale is the place to be this Queen's Birthday Long Weekend, with stacks planned both on and off the Gippsland Dragway Dragstrip!!

It all kicks of Saturday the 12th of June, with a social side to ease into the BIG weekend ahead.

First up is a get-together in the Main Street of Bairnsdale below the CFA Water Tower, starting mid morning, with a BBQ ran by club members through until heading off at 1pm on a group cruise to Lakes Entrance to check out the Thunderbirds Hot Rod Run Display on the foreshore. After which we'll be cruising back to Bairnsdale around 3.30pm, to allow people a few hours of free time to relax, or get cars ready for the next day.

Saturday evening we have planned a bit of a social get-together at the Mitchell River Tavern, starting around 6pm. We have the Function Room booked purely for our entertainment for the evening. Great meals and bar price drinks are what you can look forward to, as well as a 2-piece band have donated their time, with some music occasionally during the night.

We do need to know numbers to plan Saturday night, as catering has allowed a maximum of 150 people, so if you would like to join us, please just contact any of the admins on here to confirm, as we NEED to know numbers.

The Tavern have supported us with the planning of the weekend, and have come to the party in looking after all our entrants all weekend with meals, drinks, bottle shop, and fuel...

Accommodation only a very short stroll (or stagger) down the road is Mitchell Gardens Holiday Park, who have also got behind the club to support this event. People are already making bookings, and please mention us when booking on 03-5152 4654

Sunday the 13th of June sees things kick into top gear literally when gates open at the Gippsland Dragway at 9am. From here on in you will notice a lot of improvements made from our Easter meet, where we have tried to make things run smoother, and have an even more enjoyable day for spectators, entrants & volunteers alike.

Scrutineering will run from 9am until 11.30am STRICTLY!!
We will finish scrutineering cars up to the cut off of 11.30am, but will not scrutineer any entrants vehicles arriving after this time, UNLESS we are notified prior. This measure has been put into place for the better of the whole days event planning.

Driver's Briefing will start at 12 noon precisely, and entrant attendance is COMPULSORY!! If you do not attend the very quick driver's briefing, you will not receive your vehicle entrant sticker, and cannot race!!

Again, we have had to enforce stricter time frames and compulsory attendance for insurance requirements and smoother, safer racing by all, so please BE PREPARED, PLAN AHEAD and ARRIVE EARLY to avoid any disappointment.

Time trials will commence after the driver's briefing, and will run through to approximately 3.30pm. At this early stage (subject to change) there may be a limit on how many timed runs are kept for your bracketing. You will still be able to have as many runs as you like (within reason), but to avoid confusion for the timing controllers, your first 5 runs will determine what bracket you are placed in. We are working on ways to rectify this, so fingers crossed we find a solution prior to June.

After the brackets are displayed and announced, you will be asked to come forward in order of your brackets, please be attentive and DO NOT leave your car unattended in the staging lanes. If you are unable to be contacted in a reasonable amount of time, you MAY BE DISQUALIFIED from your run. If you must leave your car, please notify a Marshall beforehand.

Time permitting, we would like to run a Fastest Car Shootout, depending on our time frame leading towards the end of the day.

Burnouts are scheduled to get underway at 6.30pm, and hopefully we have a top class field again!! Some extra barriers & cyclone fencing will be erected prior to the burnout comp for added safety for everyone involved.

If there is enough time and interest, and the track is holding up well, there may be time for some grudge matches following the burnout comp.

Presentations will be held at the conclusion of the meeting, with all prizes, prize money and trophies being presented then.

We hope to see you all there, to help support this local club and track on a new found energy to bring events held there, with people leaving happy.

If you would like to volunteer either some of your time or resources, or something to the prize pool, we would love to hear from you!

Prizes and Prize money will be announced as more donations come through.

Please stay tuned for updates as we get closer to the date, with planning and additions changing constantly.
