Hi Folks, has anyone had any experience with these  Chopperstyle 2 or 3 inch tank lift kits. Im thinking of installing the 2" version on my 08 softy, I ordered a kit direct from the states delivered to Aussie for $72A it has not yet arrived but the exact same item purchased here from an Aussie dealer will cost you $120A, but thats another story altogether...

if its like the ones ive seen , 2 small bits of flat bar with a couple holes drilled in it and a couple of bolts , that seems a bit steep. make your own for about $10.....

This is the tank lift i put on my softail.

It's 2" and i made it from some scrap stainless from a metal fabricators. With 4" of fuel hose from Repco the job was done for less than $20.

Hardest part is putting the joggle in to line up the tank mount but with a soft jawed vice and a big shifter it can be done, then polish the whole thing.

Ok feller's you have both got me by about $50, well done, i have installed the Chopper Style one and it fitted perfectly took about 10 minutes and it looks fuckin great. As for function, well it makes it a whole lot easier to get on top of the rocker boxes and under the tank. All in all im very pleased with the result....Oh only one small problem the front brake line needed a slight adjustment so it woud clear the tank on a hard right lock...to easy

Just bored on a rainy day.

Raised the tank 3" at the front and only 1/2" at the rear ... pics are a bit crappy.
