When pulling in the front brake lever even slightly it makes a buzzing noise down near the caliper like electricity. Could someone explain what this could be? cable?. My last new bike the pads were squeaky whilst bedding in but this is a very different noise than to say its squeaking. Just very curious and have so much to learn on HD's

    Cheers

just a thought. it may be a build up of static electricity created by heat generated by braking. the super hot air trapped inside those little holes in the disk each time the pads pass over them has nowhere to escape thus becoming staticly charged and shorting out to the surrounding metal of the disk. it wont hurt you unless you ground yourself, ie put a foot on the ground while your moving and braking. but to be safe , make sure you wear rubber souled boots while riding. static electricity can be so severe it can cause a very nasty shock and has been known to disable pacemakers if the current is high enough.

I can rest easy now also.

Thanks for raising the issue Alfie  - cause I only heard the buzzing the last few weeks.

Am I deaf?  What did you say, aye???

I have a Fat Boy Lo with 600km's on the clock. Mine started doing it at about 300km's and the local shop dealer said it was normal and was a result of th eholes in the disk. Hope this helps.

My 1996 Standard Glide did it as well- no problem-- just the way it is. The 09 UC doesn't do it--at least that I can hear. I'll listen closely next time at the lights as steamer suggests.
