Not sure of the one displayed, but it's worth looking in your local Repco or Supercheap. I bought one a couple of weeks ago from Repco for $48.00 (with NRMA disc). It provides indicators of battery condition ie. charging + full/maintenance cycle.  Comes with either clips for battery or the option of a permanently installed plug similar to the one in the Battpack ad.

I wouldn't be buying anything I wasn't sure of so check out the brands: Battey Fighter, battery tender etc etc. Ctek have a range too.

Battery tenders/fighters aren't really for charging a half dead battery - they're for making your battery last longer by keeping it in tip top shape - especially if you don't ride it for extended periods of time.

That said, my battery fighter did bring my battery back to life when the normal chargers couldn't seem to pump enough power in - go figure.

Thanks for all the replies gents. Might go with the batt-pack, battery is 3yo now and the bike sometimes sits for a week and have noticed that it's not as strong as it used to be.

I have had a few times whre I cant get out for a run and have never been let down with the $100 C-Tek. It is a trickle charge/maintanence charger and it is used to counter the effects of the security systems red light flashing. It somes with 2 types of connections so you can hook it up or hard wire something so you can hook up when needed.

No, no, no! Better that he buys one "some guy" makes, instead of a brand name one.
