    Hello,

I've got a softail std with 1.5" No Name drag bars (internally wired). It's great to ride for a light day of riding BUT the other week I rode about 1K in a week end and my hands really suffered .

I've got some fatboy bars I'm going to rig up for  a change over set for longer rides to see if this eases the problem. Has any one got any advise on this.

Bars that are very low and pushed forward like drag bars will be uncomfortable for long rides.  I had a similar set up on the Sporty, ie not drag bars but very narrow and low and I found them uncomfortable.  The mini-apes on the street bob are way more comfortable because they raise your arms and you can also adjust the position of the grips so you're as far back in the saddle as you want.

Try some bars that are raised and pushed back for better comfort.

Use a throttle rocker also mate. Made a huge difference to how sore my right wrist got on long rides. $10 at MCA, 2 minutes to fit

    Thanks ,
My bars are pretty wide and raised up but I think the angle they set my wrists is the problem .I do have a throttle boss and it probably helps but at the end of the days ride there is little comfort. I'm hoping the Fatboy bars set my wrists in a more natural angle, I'll keep Y'all posted.

The stock Street Bob mini apes are very comfortable and there are plenty around that you can get cheap or for nothing. Internal wiring can be done (as I did) you just need a couple of grommets to fill the holes where the wriring harness attached to the bars when stock external wiring has been
