posted a question about this but don't think it got posted so will try again.... got a fatboy lo, vance and hines staggereds, se ac, se super pro race tuner... my previous fatty was a 98, last of the evos, and i did all my own work, playing with the s&s carb, put my own cams in and whatever else that needed doing i did it... now if i had done my homework before getting se race tuner i wouldn't have got it... dealer talked me into it, nothing against it, bike is running pretty good, but i don't like having to take it to frasers to get a tune up as all i have is the bloody box, no cables and no software... So am looking at getting the TTS system, in my way of looking at it the TTS gives you complete independance from any dealer that ties you to them.  So what i need to know is what is the cheapest way  of going about getting into the TTS, grunt factory over east can sell me the system with the usb cable kit for 650, is that a good deal?? As i said my bike is running good so there is no hurry, but this is something that i want to do at some stage in the future.  The V and H have the o2 sensors in them so i imagine it is a breeze to change systems... any feedback on the best way to go about this change would be appreciated, mmm, not really interested in hearing feedback on why i should keep the se race tuner as i want complete independance from dealers for tuning and  any mods i may do in the future, especially with the advantage of being able to tune my bike reasonably well without going to a dyno with the vtune feature...

    thanx

ride it like you stole it.......

    Hi Nelson
mate check out TTS website for info regarding sert upgrade.
Ive heard you can get cables software from the usa from HD. Mark from M and M will be able to tell you if they are available.
He can do TTS system for:

1 9220 2000000 KH HDM MASTER TUNE SINGLE BIKE $339.99
1 9223 KH HDM MASTER TUNE USB CABLE $63.19
    Sub-Total $403.18
    Special Handling(freight) $36.95
    Quote Total USD$440.13

work out about 500 aus or so delivered.
cheaper than here even with weaker dollar.

for sert upgrade info follow this link http://www.mastertune.net/SERTUpgrade.html
it tells you how to work out if you can upgrade your unit call them if you have any dramas they are very helpfull.
Scotty and steve cole and doc are also really helpfull.

Ive just ordered mine will be here soon. my dyno guy said he is happy to work out how to use it too.
the dealers will make strange noises if you mention it and lips will start flapping jibberish... but you can save out your stock map if you need it later and steve said it should be possible to save your new map so it looks like the stock map ( i guess using same file names etc) so even if you did take it to a dealer they'd be none the wiser...
probably ask you how you got it to run so good lol
hope that helps M and M are great to deal with ive check'd all the other sites, only one was able to beat his price by like 1 dollar so i go M and M every time now...he ships fedex so service is excellent.

You can't upgrade the SEPST to the TTS.

    Completely different software and manufacturer.

You could just buy the cables and software for the SEPST (I think they can be bought serparately) and tune the bike yourself which would be cheaper or buy the TTS and scrap the SEPST and
start the whole tuning process yourself.

Since the SEPST lets you tune with a VTune like function; why would you get a TTS if you already have the SEPST? Just get the cables and software from the US and not be tied to a dealer for your tuning requirements.

Not wanting to rain on anyone’s parade but I was in the same situation as you. I was encouraged to buy the SEPST when I bought the bike new from the Dealer.
I then decided to make a number of major Mods, Cams, 103 Kit, Breather and Head Work. The learning curve steepened dramatically
For the layman who wants to tinker with his bike there are only marginal differences between the TTS and the SEPST.
Considering that you own a SEPST and money is too hard to come by, why not stay with the SEPST. You only need to buy the cables and program and you can do anything with the SEPST that you can do as a layman with the TTS.
The “Smart Tune” feature of the SEPST allows you to modify the stock tune of your bike to suit any Mods you may want to carry out without the dealers expensive input other than the published MAPS which are Free.
Scotty would be the man to speak to regarding this, as his advice has been invaluable to me in the past with the exact same situation you are in now.
Once I learnt to use the Smart-tune feature tuning became a breeze.
    Only my two cents worth

    Hi Biff

Played around with a couple but finaly settled  on the 205TW005 which after 2 smart tunes really works well.  Only problem I had to over come was the Cam choice given that I have an Andrews Cam which does equate to a direct Harley equivilant.

    Cheers Dave,

same problem re working out what would be best with the non screamin eagle cam, but pretty happy with the results I got. Next time I go to the big smoke I might put it on a Dyno just to be certain all is good.
