Hi all
Question, if a bike has a frame number and matching engine number how hard is it going to be to get a current compliance plate for it or is it not possible up in QLD. The bike numbers have been checked to see whether it has been stolen.
Thanks in advance.
Mine blew off when I was riding it home from the dealer 2.5 yrs ago. Finally decided to do something about i. Went to dealers, salesman said as long as it was registered, the rule have canged, so you dont need on. Rang HD AUS, they said I did need one. Rang dealer, ordered, was told up to 2 month wait Got phone call 24 hrs later to say it was in. 2 hr ride to dealer, it was the wrong one (apparently it was to go to Brisbane for a Fatty in Capalaba). Assume mine went there. Re-ordered, was in the next day. means another ride to get it on, as apparently it must be fitted by a dealer. Head mechanic again said that once its registered it does not need one. I looked at about a dozen bikes in the workshop, and about half did not have one.
Might depend on how old you bike is re how easy theya re to get. The mechanic just checked numbers.
