    Hi All,

Have an 85 FXRS and since Tuesday nite(very cold)  I have developed a rattle from the transmission as far as I can determine(right side).Checked for anything loose but didn't find it.Only seems to be there when the bike is riding, not sitting at idle.If I pull in the clutch it stops, but then returns as I release.I'm not mechanical but am learning fast with this Harley.Any ideas? Have read a lot of good advice on variuos mechanical issues on this forum so hope someone can steer me in the right direction.?

Also another question I have a Thunderheader exhaust and a CV carb with Big Sucker, and the bike pops a lot under de-celeration, am I running too lean or too rich or something else?

hi, check  pulley main nut  1st  can check from under bike if the front pulley is loose with a long big screw driver , on the early 5 spds also check the clutch release pushrod thro-out bearing & fork in the right hand cover , on carb clean fuel system out 1st inc fuel cock , idle jet should be a 45 -48  with mixture about 2 1/2 to 3 turns out
