All these wankers who hate harleys and their owners are all tuff at the end of a key board.I have never had one of these assholes come up to me and confront me about the bike i ride.As the saying goes god created jap bikes to keep wankers of off harleys.I say fuck them all if they havent got the bulls to say it to my face dont say any thing at all.
Have been reading material from the said website for years...........always the same. The 'messianic moron' that owns that site does however make a few legitimate points, one being that H-D has done a superb job of selling a 'lifestyle'. Harleys are basically un-changed since the 45 degree, knife - fork rod design came out. The MoCo does a superb marketing job with this old, but charming design, and promoting the 'bad guy' image of days gone bye.
Mr. 'messianic moron' has for some unknown reason, been critical of the accountants, postal employees, carpenters, truckdrivers, etc. that have changed out of their everyday clothes, rolled the aged design motorcycle out of the garage and for a brief time become a 'bad guy'.
Harley is in a marketing nightmare also......expensive product, that doesn't respond well to the EPA regulations that are getting more restrictive every year, and the acceptance of something 'new'.....eg. V-Rod - liquid cooling, over square motor etc.
Enjoy your motorcycle ...whatever you ride
Dead right Etch, fuck em. Here's a funny story that'll make your day. I was walking down the footpath years ago when my boy was about 5yrs old. We were walking past a big jap bike and me boy said "Look dad,jap crap!" Standing beside it was this bloke about 6'6" tall and about 150 kilo,a big muscular fucker (bouncer? hitman?debt collector?) All I could say was "C'mon son" The guy looked at me with a smile and I smiled back,we could both see the funny side of it. I will definitely never forget that. Another point I'd like to express, years ago when I was 1%ing, we would party with other big clubs, some still around, and there were more jap/non usa bikes than Harley's in the clubs,"we all rode together!!" For fuck's sake!! I love being near 59yrs old,for we had a lot less whingers about what people rode. As long as ya rode. I remember "Takin pride in what ya ride" a club (MRA?) used to say. Yeah, good days. So are today, with the near maintenance free Harleys, as compared to some of the older models. Yeah Etch, keyboard hero's.Modern technology does that. Scary shit to!!! I have to plug me Rocka into a fucking computer to tune it,which I'll never learn how.
