G'day all just a want any infomation I can get on the SE heavy breather so just a few  quick questions,

> Improvement in HP was there much gain

>How does the breather pod cope if your caught in heavy rain

>I got mid controls on my bike does the breather stick out more and do I lose any leg room on the pegs

>Are they legal in all States or not

You can get a rain cover for the breather.
Im going Big sucker from arlen ness which also has a rain cover.
if you do breather and pipes you really need TTS or Supertuner or thundermax or something to stop it running too lean.
at worst an ecm flash from the stealer.
with everything tuned right you should definitley get more HP.

I just put on the S/E Hi Flow Pod + SEPST, on the fatbob.
Like a new bike, more power, smoothed it out, I can feel it breathing better, better leg room,I havn't been caught in heavey rain yet.
I didn't know they might not be legal,

no probs with cops in vic ,rain sock works good in rain,seems to flow good for performance..

Pod filters are illegal. Just did noise test on bike and would not accept any pod filters on bike. NSW

Farrrk - So does that mean the police can just make you take it back to the rego check, can they tell you to leave your bike, because its not road worthy?

I ran one on my 1200c with TC88 and Hooker  pipes

Just wear a sock on it all the time and you'll have no problems

 You know i'm only it it for the looks so I keep the cover in my jacket pocket and only use it when it's peeing down. Never occurred to me that it might not be legal. I got the SE pipes, breather and tuner at the same time so can't tell what impact each has had individually, but the overall result is great. Spins out much more freely and very nice sound. With max revs now at 6200 I've tried to hit the rev limiter a few times but ran out of opportunity or nerve.

I have only just had it put on this month - how long have they been illegal for Frank - if it has been a while Im going to talk to my bike mechanic!!
I have already sent him an email 2 days ago, no answer yet!

Good one 37, I'll try it if it happens, they just might say that the mechanic and or the bike shop that did the test doesnt know whats going on though.
If the plod has a bad day or doesn't like us, he can ground the bike thats the part I don't like, I am travelling from the NSW South Coast to Qld soon, I would hate for the plod to say to me I can't ride it because of a few minor points.

Thanks all for your replies I really like the looks of this air cleaner got a price for one at my local dealer around the $450 mark also mine is a caby model so I would have to rejet because I have aftermarket pipes fitted but the dealer did tell me he has sold a few and said a couple customer's have told him that in heavy rain even with the sock fitted there bikes did cough and play up a bit but I suppose if you fit one you got to expect this just don't go out on wet days.

i rode mine thru that massive storm/ hail storm we had in melbourne about 2 months ago i was riding in the pouring rain for about 40mins with the rain sock on and not one cough and that was hard rain!!

Mine have a Stainless Steel Filter and I have never needed a Rain Sock
