    hi guys,

I am waiting july to buy a RKC 09. Do you know if usually price follow a bit the parity AU$/US$ as we should be close to 1:1 this summer and the RKC is only 17,000 US$ over there.

    Thanks

why is it like that ?

is it HD or the dealers here in Australia who increase their margin.

pretty much 100% more than in US is difficult to justify.

milking it for what they can get.... not sure why but there is a premium on price of some bikes. Beeza posted something about this last year.

For info.. I purchase Street Bob in Sept. 06 and paid $X with rate at 0.76. The price is now at least $X+500 and exchange rate 0.94.. I have not looked at the US price but it has certainly not rised by that much. Prices for some Jap bikes have reflected the strong Aussie Dollar... bot not Hasley dealers.... sux

Theres a lot of factors for pricing motorcycles, video games, washing machines, porn movies etc that are imported into Aus.

Prices are calculated to cover fluctuations over a long period of time, i.e. when the a.u.d. was trading around 65c/usd the bike prices were the same.

While it's great that we can buy bling off Ebay at US prices, I personally don't want to be paying $17000 for new Harleys as the resale on the oversize air compressors is part of the appeal.
