is the bike tuned for theV&H ? whilst there is some "give" in the ECU for different pipes the V&H usually need remap because ofthe higher output of exhaust

from my understanding of the V&H product it does need to be retuned , however your dealer who sold you the pipes should have told you what the go is. basically you probably now have a bike which the outflow is far greater than the inflow and the ecu cannot adjust the air / fuel ratio enough to compensate.

Just reading your prob with the V&H pipes you fitted and the error code etc.

One thing you must be aware of is that the EFI in the stock bike cannot be adjusted mannualy, there is a small self tune available with the 02 sensors but I think not enough to compensate for your upgrade. HD are adhering to strict EPA requirements and run the bikes very lean. When we want to add pipes etc it is esential that a aftermarket EFI module is fitted like PC111, SERT or (Thundermax who use thier own 02 sensors and will selftune). That will allow ya to tune the bike to achieve it's optimum air fuel ratio and give ya more power etc. You run the risk of engine damage if the bike is allowed to run too lean or too rich.

In my case I have V&H BSS, PC111 and SE aircleaner, with that I had it dynotuned and the bike runs sweet, cool and added HP.

Well aware of the mans prob and needing eliminators to overcome error code, as indeed he is now!

But If he is changing stuff in isolation he's asking for expensive trouble.

Sorry bobtail just the way I wrote it
I've/we have recently fitted a set of v&h radias to my brothers 07 with 02 sensors and have no problems, so I was under the impression that
maybe all that is wrong is a connection fault and needs reseting

Bought some vance and hines pipes to fit the 02 sensors and finally got around to putting them in the other night, everything went smoothly on installation, followed the instructions and they sound great.

Slight problem, now the engine light is displayed when the engine is running,

Hey guys. engine warning light is displayed because the exhaust flap actuator motor has been disconnected. As for pipe change, the stock ecm has only a slight variant which should be able to accomodate a PIPE ONLY change. If you change both pipes AND air cleaner well then more air in equals more air out. which also means more fuel to be added. this is when an upgrade of the efi IS ESSENTIAL.
