K&P Engineering oil filter - worth it?

The Parts bloke at the local Harley shop was talking up the benefits of this brand - it's an oil filter for life apparently; but quite expensive.

I forget exactly the price but it was somewhere around $300! But supposedly the bees knees of oil filters...

Some noted benefits are an increase of 2hp and seven times more oil flow than paper filters - and of course NASA quality oil straining and filtration.

On here I searched 'oil filters' and found a reference and a picture in the 'press articles' section - but it was the basic blurb on the product (minus feedback).

So, anyone here use these filters? Are they that good? Worth that sort of money?

Thanks for the response fellas but I'm having no luck with those links...

I tried hovering the pointer thing over the address and then tried copying and pasting into the 'forum search' - and I tried the same with 'Google', but I get referred back to this thread - what am I doing wrong here?

And you've got me wondering about the price now Wozza - I'm sure he said around $300 but best I check!

Yes I sell a great one made you Proflow , it has the similer 30 Micron Washable Stainless Steel Filter. K&P claim that theirs acts a a oil cooler as well because if the finned housing. Please dont take what Im about to say the wrong way,

A standard Steel Black Filter will run cooler than a Chrome Plated Steel Filter, The Chrome Finish is what holds Heat.
    K&P use a aluminum Housing .

Because is Aluminum thats why it runs cooler. Aluminum dose not hold Heat like Steel, The Finns will help it to cool down a little, they claim 5 to 10 deg cooler, ??????  The Proflow is also made from Aluminum and will work the same way

Walka, mate was wanting to ask you if the ProFlow has the magnetic filtration capability that some of the others boast. I noticed the others all talk about flow rate and HP improvement, are there any specs available for ProFlow?

Well I bought a KP Filter before I saw Walka's filter. (Bought it for my daughter's partner) As I have had a look at both of them first hand. Personally much of a muchness, however Walka's was $30.00 cheaper and a lot bigger as well. It also comes with a nut to remove the filter from the bike and the filter media is screwed into the housing and tightened using an adapter so it looks very similar to a normal filter. The K&P filter $180.00 from Jason at

    http://bikespares.com.au

delivered) uses a 3 key way fitting to secure the filter into the housing, which is held in place by a spring that pushes the filter media up against the filter housing, Very easy to disassemble.. Which one is better I wouldn't have a clue,as they both claim 30 micron filtration but if I had known about the one Walka is selling I would have bought that one. The magnet on the KP is clearly visible on the outside of the filter element. Which is good as you can see anything first hand. The Proflow I didn't see the magnet so it must be inside the media.

my 2c worth for what it is worth.
