Hi guys. I am in need of some advice.....! I have my eye on a New Softy Standard...2009, or I can go with the Custom....again 2009.... Both brand new.

What are the pros and cons here? I would like to customise the standard, but take my time, BUT, would I be better off just to bite the bullet and go the Custom?..... about 5K difference.

What do you guys suggest?                 Thanks....... FRANGA !!

As Ando indicated the prob with the custom is that ya still hafta spend at least another 5 grand to get pipes, cam, bars, tuner and air cleaner.....then ya gotta upgrade the shocks put in a 103-107 kit and heads etc..... and before ya know it ya bike owes ya 40+k......

I chose the standard because it gives me the flexibility to make changes without breaking the bank....

    Whatever choice ya make...good luck..

    Bt

    Mate,
Get the FXST, It has the same shit metal in the same place as the custom , wheel spacers, indicator bolts, torx bolts. When they loose their lustre (after the first time you get caught in the rain) you won't be quite as broken hearted. Then you can ride it and not feel guilty about the dirty chrome.

Another standard with wheel option and chrome kit. I prefer the black engine but the chrome kit on the silver engine makes a huge amount of difference for about USD$770.

    cheers

I really like the STD , but when i put my coin down $$ there was no other way for me "Custom" all the way . i wanted the black Donk , chrome engine cover's  , chrome oil tank , smooth wheels ,  etc etc etc , being i would have spent equal or more to make my STD look like a Custom the choice was easy for me & in the end a STD isnt a Custom "Enjoy either the STD or Custom both are great" . .  2 cents
