Ah yes, I have missed something!!
Obviously the Belkin is to convert the serial/serial cable to usb.
I have the TTS serial to usb cable, which I believe is dodgy.
Thats OK, as I said, I can bodgy it up to work. Its the same male and female connection, its just the locking components, ie. the thumbscrews and nuts. that hold the connection securely together that is wrong. I've got nuts and nuts instead of thumbscrews and nuts!
Hopefully this will prove that my original cable is faulty, otherwise its back to the drawing board regarding my loss of data connection.
