Answer to ULTRA 2010s question. where did the seat covers come from?. www.goodwool.com.au Good Wool Store 49 Queen St BERRY 2535. Ph0244642081. Check with the dealer if the 2010 seat is the same as the 2009
Question without notice on the only thread I could find on the subject.
Has anyone had contoured sheepskin covers fitted to their rides ?
If so - how did they compare "comfort wise" in comparison to the original seat.
I am aware of Brisbane Manufacturer who makes to order with a 6-8week lead time.
He needs my seat for about a week to make a template then the cover is made to order.
They aren't cheep - comparible to a new seat, but supposed to be the ultimate in comfort for the long ride.
Anyone done this already ?
had one fitted to my old bike......07 electraglide.... and was reasonably comfy, but not a great fit
bought from good wool store ...well made but a little too bulky, felt like i was actually sitting on the whole fukn sheep
eventually sold to a guy on ebay who was very happy with it
i think they would be better if the sides were made out of some different material so as to reduce the bulkiness
and dont forget about practicality in wet weather
ended up changing ta a sundowner seat which was graet on long trips
just my opinion
cheers
""bought from good wool store ...well made but a little too bulky, felt like i was actually sitting on the whole fukn sheep"" Prolly ok if yer a kiwi. :-)
Yep they are a bit bulky but they stop ya ass from getting hot.Try cuttin some old sheep skin car seat covers up first.
I've got one to fit 2008 RK, (including rain cover) if anyone's interested. Reason I don't like it is if you forget to cover it ... it's just easier to wipe a leather seat down
