In to progress of planning to convert to chain final drive and wondering if the rear belt pulley has a stamp on it to show how many teeth or do I have to do a count? Is a standard 89 eve springer 5 speed softail. Just trying to work out sprockets etc ? any help would be great.
You want to change to a chain and put an open primary on your bike, if its a totally stock 89 springer leave it, in another 10 - 15 yrs you`ll be glad you did. Standard set up is pretty much maint free compared to a chain and an open belt ready to take your leg off, why not build another bike? you know you want to.
She is well past restoration mate, would cost me more to return back to dead stock than to go forward with this one., Will always keep everyhting from the bike so it can be returned back to as near to stock, is just the running gear from this one is going into a rigid project so is the reason for the chain conversion etc.
