Just got a renewall notice for the insurance for my bike today from eBike . What a fucking joke!!  went from $370 to $642 for no apparent reason. Got onto Shannon's to see what their rate is---------$327.50 full comprehensive and agreed price and a host of other benifits.

Rang eBike to see what was with their increase in premium and the girl says she will see if they can do better than their original price, but I  must have my credit card ready as it is a one off offer and has to be taken on the spot. She comes back with $350.00. I'm rather proud of myself for telling her in a most diplomatic way that they had lost me as a customer,I never raised my voice once or swore once. Theiving cunts were just trying it on, glad I had a look around before paying.

how much cover we talking here 10K 20K more??

    Just curious.

Shannons would not insure my bike, as I ride it more than they liked.

ebike tried that crap on me a year ago...told them to stick it, don't like playing games and hearing that crap about being a special one time price...QBE did me right...

Mine is coming up for renewal in a few months, whats the going rate for $35k agreed value full cover ?

I took QBE as reccommended by the stealer when I brought the bike last year and the premuim was about $880.

880 for 35,000 don't seem bad, its strange how they work it out ,QBE  wanted $740 for my Triumph we did'nt even get to the Harley , I have a rating 1 wrong side of 50, the bikes are in a alarmed garage tied down with a nice big thick chain , with a rotty that licks its lips everytime it sees a stranger .

2 mates have the same bike and could'nt get more than 20 grand agreed value from shannons  and they have more extras , go figger .

Never had comprehensive before I got the Heritage in 07, unfortunately I had to hand in the previous policy the Old Shovel was covered with for 20 years with Mossberg Insurance. I had their 12 gauge Riot pump policy.  (loaded with rocksalt, can't be charged with attempted murder  only GBH.)

Shannon's was the most reasonable at the time, covered for 17k and pay monthly.

when he questioned it he was told same company mate.

I pay 180 per year on the shovel with 19k agreed value on a limited use policy through shannons. They won't cover my Rocket because I ride it everyday but they will cover my car that the handbrake drives everyday.

Swann wanted 780 for the rocket on a market value basis but that was still 50 better than insure my ride.

At the end of the day they are just all bloodsucking leaches

when i looked for insurance for my new fxstc i called my broker who deals with a fair few company's and the best he could do was $875.00 for $36000.00 cover.
i ended up with harley insurance, through swan, for $545.00. 3 years new replacement and $400.00 excess.
i was told swan take into account the security systems on the new harleys for premium prices, maybe some others don't,

Some of you bloke have some awfully cheap insurance!??

Regarding eBike yeah that's their whole caper, be cheaper than anyone going around and then jack it up each year.
You just ring em' and threaten to leave or even ring & cancel your insurance and suddenly they become very reasonable again. Obviously this is their tactic.

Anyone actually made a claim with them though???

OK this is an old thread but the search feature gave me the option

I just got a renewal from Swan for the Can Am Spyder today, jumped up from $692 (with $39000 agreed) to $1113 ($35000).
we made a claim during the year because a Galah hit the windscreen and broke the mount bracket,
the company said because it is wildlife and they cant claim the money back from the government, we go to a rating 1 to a 3.
if it was a car, they can claim the money from them.
    How Fucked is that

Yep 4 years, but I done the search thingy and not wanting another insurance thread, vented on this one

doubled the insurance because they can't recoup the money from wildlife, do they not realize in the outside of cities, there are people and many wildlife to potentially bump into.

i have found 3 kangaroo bonnet emblems in the car and never has my premiums doubled.

    must be a motorcycle thing.

the mount has the motor drive for the adjustable screen height, all in one, the small bit that broke held the arm out to the screen buy a cotter pin, it was the small bit that went around the pin that broke
it cost $1580 and $300 labor

I just renewed my bike insurance with youi. 2007 flstf with stage 1 mods. Market value. $280 comp premium per year. I am low risk in terms of person, age, location, history etc. It was far cheaper than anybody else so I insured our cars too and got further discounts so bike is down to $260.

Aami was over 800, swann was in the 500s, insuremyride was in the 400s.

Shop around for a big saving!
