Pretty much the real deal, i like it, would be a great project, do you have the patience to build it right and ride it like a 70 yo bike, cool cruiser.

    Thanks boys

Walka, will give you a bell mate to chat

Kiwi, thanks for that info, in short: Not bidding on this thing, was just curious on everyones opinions as a project. I know huge amount of work to be done, I have trade and engineering background, have my own full workshop and access to paint and metal fab shops at no cost. I dont know the 1st friggin thing about VL,s but I am more attracted to building/restoring than I am to simply assembling a project bike. I have previously restored an old 1942 16H Norton back to mint and enjoyed chasing the parts and taking time to go thru each part and give it the TLC treatment. I guess what I am wanting to do is build something classic that has some history/character if that makes sense.

Really appreciate the comments and advice

    Cheers

There is a lot of work to be done on that one and lotsa dollars to be spent, saying that it would be a fun project but the dollars they want for it could be put into something better I reckon. The side valves are fun but a Pan project in my opinion cannot be beaten.

One thing with stuff as old as a VL is that they run a constant loss oil system. So they don't just leave their mark they pump it out and not return it at all to the oil tank. Knuckles, I think, the first with a returning oil system.
