Got a pair of Hooker troublemaker pipes recently and absolutely love em!!!!  Thanks heaps Walka!!!!

Just wanna know is there a baffle on the market that you can put in them to make them go quiet enough to pass an EPA noise test???  I haven't been picked up yet but I just wanted to know so I can be prepared.  I don't really wanna be swapping stock pipes back and forth everytime i get done.

No ,,, The Law is that the Baffle in the Pipes must Fixed and not be removable,,,, Hooker do make a Quite Baffle for them but it only cuts down about 3Db .not enough to pass.
Keep your Old Pipes Handy.. Ivé have had Hookers on one of my Bikes for 4 Years now and have never been done. Just stay out of the CBD

Thanks walka, i remember you mentioning the quiter baffle when i picked them up but i thought there might be something out there that drops the noise right down for an inspection and then you can just swap the baffle out when you get home. Is it possible to make one? Im not fazed about the law saying the baffle shouldn't be removable as if you get done out my way (eastern suburbs) you just take it down to a registered noise tester like Mr Muffler etc and they check it on behalf of the EPA. Im sure the guys at Mr Muffler wont care if the baffle is rmovable or not. Could you wrap the baffle in fibreglass or something?

In the old days you would just Pack the Pipes up with Steel Wool........ It was a Pisser watching Steel Wool Fire Balls blasting tough the Air as the Test guy Revved up the Bike

Thats exactly what i was thinking of doing Ozroder. I reakon you could drill a hole and weld a washer to a threaded rod - fit it inside and just turn it 90 degrees when you want to quiet the pipes down at the inspection. Only thing is I dont wanna go drilling holes in my pipes if it aint gunna work.

Hi wazza,i just put some hooker darksides 2 into 2's on my 2010 fxst and holy shit are they loud just the way i like em,but i'm like you i'm looking for a baffle the will take the db level down a bit so i dont upset the wrong people,so far i've found a place called big city thunder monster baffles in the states and they supply them for hooker pipes and other radius pipes, maybe these baffles might be the way to go for me but check em out mate they might be the way for you aswell,if anyone knows of places in oz to get them from that'll be great.
