Hi Fundi, have had my Fatbob [ or Bobby as i call him ] since Oct 08 & lov it.
I find original seat fine for me but on a longer ride more than about 60ks without a stop my mrs complains about the pillion part of the seat.
i would like to fit a solo seat & have a separate touring pillion seat but have not seen anything yet that i like
Do like the new Brown seat on CVO 2010 model but don't think it would suit my black pearl bobby.
Have just fitted combination Speedo/ tacho in place of original speedo.

i have been lookin at the custom job in the catalog like the new colour and the seat for looks
was thinking of getting the worn leather look for solo and keeping the standard seat for two up rides
might have to have a re-think
    misses wants comfort not looks
thats why she married me ha ha
combination Speedo/ tacho will look into that

    Hi Fundi,

I have recently bought a 2010 FatBob and absolutely love it! I bought the Vivid Black as I like the glossy look. Wasn't too keen on the Black Denim.

Original seat was fine for me, but the missus found it too skinny and she got a sore arse on the test ride  Ended up getting the "Sundowner Deep Bucket Seat". It has a deeper seat for the rider and gives some back support, whilst providing the pillion with a wider seat. If I take it for a solo cruise I don't even bother changing back to the old seat as the Sundowner is just perfect. The missus finds it very comfortable and has not had an issue. We also got the Low Sissy Bar with pad which is perfect for keeping your girl on the bike, especially if you give it a squirt and she isn't hanging on.

Haven't yet decided whether I want to change the Speedo to a Speedo/Tacho........haven't really missed it from the old bike.

+1 for the Sundowner Deep Bucket Seat. The missus actually organised it for herself as she found the original seat unconfortable after only a short time but can go 2-3 times longer ride. Took a couple of rides to get used to it but actually prefer it now.

    Hi Fundi,
Being an older bloke I'm fairly seat sensitive. but find the original fat bob seat o.k. and I dont use my airhawk except on daylong rides just for that bit of extra luxury. My bob is black denim and is easy to keep looking as new using water with dishwashing liquid as per handbook. It's only 6 months old so I've no idea how the finish will last long term as polish is taboo on the denim. If you enjoy polishing and admiring ( I don't, I just like riding) then perhaps a gloss finish is for you. Cheers .weepete.

hi guys thanks for tthe info

just checked out theSundowner Deep Bucket Seat looks good

will need to check into this one

weepete thats cool with the black denim (i hate to wash and polish all the time myself)

black denim seems to me the look i,m after (bit ruff around the edges)

but still have time and little funding so could change my mind yet (flat black or shiney)

9 month of payments on my current ride to go

    cheers fundi

I will try and get a pic of the bike tomorrow but if you are tall, I'm not, the seat does lift you up and forward a bit but I find that good for me.

It does look fatter at the back without the sissy bar on but hey it's a fat bob.

I am just a tad of 6"2 and have not found any issues with the Sundowner pushing me too far forward. I have some pics but this forum doesn't appear to let me attach any pics to my post, and I don't have a web page sorry.

here's a pic of the sundowner on my Bob....it will lift you up & move you forward .....

it is very comfortable for long hauls...SWMBO did 1,000 K's on the OE seat till she said it was killing her lower back....so on went the sundowner ....

yeh Sundowner is my choice, even today missus is whinging when I will put it back on the bike with sissy bar (need new brackets) as the std 2-up seat is awesome for rider but no good at all for pillion.

Massive amounts of vaginal vibration too just so you know. I envisaged this would be a fantastic selling point but unfortunately you are married as I am and the better halves don't seem to appreciate it at all and as much as I'd like to think so, i have a disctinct lack of skanky 19 y/olds who I think are the only ones that would truly appreicate the wafer thin seat and rumble in the jungle.

WTF am I even talking about now?

Anyway.... yes the sundowner she does throw you forward, i am 6'2" but you get a good level of support and padding so it's worth it, it sits the pillion just right, so personally i have'nt found better. Also don't discount taking your stock seat as is from the dealer and then go local custom car upholster and for undre $200 get a wild re-trim in your own taste. my 2cents.

A couple of pictures of my Corbin seat on the Fatbob. It is twice the price of the sundowner but is custom made in the US and fully leather. To be honest she who must be obeyed has not been on the back yet because of something to do with the weather being to cold, but my piece of seat is excellent. I am 5'8 and have no trouble with the controls at all as this seat pushed me a little bit further forward.
As far as the vibration issue on the back for woman is concerned Superglide my missus assures me it`s true but it depends how you position yourself on the seat, whatever that means.

Got it through VPW in Melbourne it cost 860 dollars delivered to my door go onto the Corbin website and the one I have is the dual tour, I just rode it for a couple of hundred kms and it was very comfy.

So have a look on the Corbin site then get in touch with VPW and apparently if you tell them you are from the forum you will get a discount.

Hi to all, yes the the best hawg on the road does have a seat that makes most pillions a bit reluctant to get on board (GOOD AINT IT ) I find my spot on the
bike to be really good but did mount mid pegs to balance the old girl when ringing its neck ,personal customizing is the way it becomes your bike not harleys,

Looks like I'll need to go the way of one of these sundowner bucket seats as well as the missus also says the standard seat kills her back.

Can anyone tell me how much it lifts the rider up & is anyone able to post a pick of the seat on the bike without the rider? Just need get to get my head around the size of it.

Has anyone tried the RallyRunner seat as an alternative to the Sundowner?  I prefer the look of it as it is more streamlined but have neither seen one on a bike nor heard any reports on them.
