Advice on my next steps for trouble shooting:

Speedo has started not working - when riding it dies cutting power to the dial and mileage readout.  When I pull up at the lights and slip back into neutral it works again (as in the mileage comes back), but dies again shortly after taking off.  I notice it also effects the indicator cancelling.

So, I figured maybe the sensor was faulty - pulled it out and cleaned off.  Didn't work.  Bought a new one and replaced it.  Didn't work.

Oddly, when I apply the front brake (sometimes) even when stationery as in tonight, it makes the mileage readout come back on.  Weird.

Also, the engine light comes on.  Stuffed if I know, short of taking it into the shop.  I've checked the speedo connections and they seem all secure.

Any (sensible) ideas on what to check next?

My speedo and indicaters were playing up and it was beacause I had a crook regulator and my battery would keep going flat...Once that was fixed everything was back to normal...That was on my 1995 FXSTC...Good luck with it...

I have a similar problem. the engine light, battery and key light come on. Speedo doesnt work and the auto cancel function on the indicators dont work. Does,nt happen all the time. Feels weird when i am riding knowing that by all those lights the bike should probably not be running. 06 Superglide custom.
