For those who have reasonably new bikes,or maybe it's just the EFI's, that have decceleration popping? TRY CALTEX PULP!  I have noticed after filling with this fuel my decel popping and farting increases. Funny enough, I was speaking to a HOG member this morning, who had his new bike serviced, just recently, and requested that the dealer not adjust for this occurance, because he enjoyed the sound it makes. I also got a buzz from the spectators who have to break their necks, to see.

Please don't tell me that this will harm any engine?

I have been advised by both HD and Ducati in Bunbury to use 95 and not 98... bike has been running better on 95 and the pipes not so black. The instruction is to use nothing less than 95... but believe that is US 95 which is like our 91 from what I've heard. Anyway Frasers have just said to use premium.

Decel popping is also a symptom of EFI tunning and or leaking exhaust gaskets at the cylinder heads. I had bad decel popping and after a bit of research decided to alter my PC111 closed throttle setting by increasing the value to 15%, this cut the decel pop a lot. Check that the exhaust pipe clamps are tight at the cylinder heads.

I was told that Vortex is the best, and try to use it where possible. That came from the brother in law who is into car racing.
Trouble is, how true are the stories we hear about fuel. Seems to be plenty of opinions on the subject.
I was told ages ago that BP was the best fuel, but recently heard that they use 10% enythnol in their fuels. Don't know if that information is true or not. I will avoid it until I hear otherwise.
Then you hear the stories about the fuel that is franchised under Woolworths for example, not as good as ordinary bowser fuels. True or not, who knows.
Trouble is I see that Woolies uses Caltex as well, all too bloody confusing.

I have seen a contractor (unmarked) leave the Shell depot and stop at Woolies to unload, so go with cheapest on the day for Woolies, they do only own the Servos not British Petrolium (BP).

I lot of pinging after filling, others with simillar problems from same servo! call 60 Minutes they did a story on this early last year. Some servo owner got paid to lawfully dispose of about 1,000 lt. of acetone because the seals on the drums where broken so he emtied em into the unleaded. Can't remember which servo it was.

Sombodies gunna have better knowlage than me on this but I think our 95 is = to US 91. I am pretty sure the deffinition of fuel in OZ is 100% hydrocarbons and may include various % of different stuff inc. 5% acetone and 15% ethannol that they dont have to tell you about which means if you wack in the 10% ethanol they do have to advise (advertise) it's 25% ethanol, the same as Mexico, where Holden send unmodified Commodores with GMC Lumina badges.

Fortunatly for us our 98 cannot be achived with any more than about 5% of that low octane ethanol shit that NQ sugar millionairs think is gunna save their industry when really most of the Ethanol made in OZ comes from spoilt / failed wheat crops and is distilled in SA.

Sorry, I'll get of me soap box now.
