Scuff marks from boots,how to remove???

    Gday all i have a few scuff marks on my pipes from my boots melting was wondering how to get rid of them,any one have any ideas i dont want to mark the pipes if i can help it.any help would be great

    what type of polish do u use? do u do it when hot or cold?

    DO NOT use any sort of "scotch brite" pad, or those green scrubbing pads! We use them in the auto industry to rub down paint, or to take the shine off any surface.

    Do try some fine steel wool, (obviously try a small section underneath, just in case!). Use with the polish if you like, because we used to use this method on all chrome bars, chrome and stainless steel moulds, and even on GLASS, and it will not scratch

    thanks not keen on oven cleaner nasty stuff.can i get the steel wool from super market dont have a bunnings close by,what about that stuff that has the soap in it (steel wool stuff)?????

    thanks all for your help. i went with the 0000 super fine steel wool n a bit of penatrating oil with a light rub worked a treat no ugly scuff marks n the chrome seems a lot brighter were i had used it
