question about softail shocks

G'day fellas, seeing as though this the first softail I've owned I need some advice on how the shocks work internally....

I'm going to upgrage, because I'm a skinny ba$tard and I feel every bump on the road, big and small.  I think I have the pre-load low as I think it comes from the factory on the lowest setting anyways...  The bike is a new Deluxe.

    So, my questions are:-

    1. are there any shocks that can be adjusted for different riders weights? ie 65kgs VS 120kgs cant be the same shock set up???
    2. is there an aftermarket shock out there that has damping adjustment?  Do I need damping adjustment?
    3. Should I be looking at air shocks like Shotgun shocks that are popular in the US?
    4. Are the Fournales shocks adjustable for damping as well?

Hope someone can help me out here.

Didn't know that the Deluxe had shockers thought mine was a "rigid"

Yeah, they are not the best and I'm workiong out what to do, looking at air shocks but thats about $3K for really good ones

My plan on the front is to add a washer to give it more preload and maybe some more oil as oppose to heavy weight and see how it goes.

The problem is in the actual design (hoz laying shocks) which to be honest I never knew till AFTER I bought the bike (I'm a dumbass)

Keep us in the loop on what you do as it will be next year before I can spend $3K on rear shockers

    Cheers

Really depends what you compare them too, I wouldn't rate them 'Good" nor 'Bad' just doesn't like tight corners and is easily unsettled

Nothing to do with clearance either, I had an M109R before this and that thing would scrape on a round about but it out handled any other cruz bike I've ridden

    Anyway....

Put a sprung seat on your deluxe (3 designs available from 010 catalogue), makes the ride beaaaautiful (no matter what your weight) as you have both constant wind springs + the normal horizontal softail shocks.

May not suit your look but works a treat on the crossbones....................... cheaper than air shocks!!!

Its come down to a choice between Fournales and the Shotgun shocks from the US......

Anyone got any experience with the Fournales compared to the stock shocks on a lowered bike like the deluxe??
