    Hi guys/gals,

Just signed up to the forums last night as soon as I saw the site on Google.
    I'm a huge HD fan, although don't have one....Yet.

I'm 22 and get my unrestricted bike license in May.
I'm also into cars (currently modifying a turbocharged 1971 Corolla), so cash is a bit tight.

I'd love to get into the HD scene and get a Night Rod, but atm i'm thinking along the lines of a 1200 Sportster when cash permits (as most of my spare cash goes to the Corolla project).
Just want something to cruise with the mrs, have the awesome open HD sound, enough go, look neat, chromed-up and LOW.
I'd love to find out as much info as possible about my options within my price range...which i'd like to keep under 10k.

Any advice from HD owners would be great.

    Cheers.
    Mark

    Thanks all.
What's the go on these 883 Iron HD's?? they look awesome!
Are they good for carrying a pillion passenger? or not enough power? (I know it'll need a new seat)

Right now that's what i'd be leaning towards: Matte Black 883 Iron.
Has anyone on here who owns one got an opinion, good or bad?

    Cheers again,
    Mark M

OK after some more research it looks like an Iron 883 wiould suit my needs....or wants...haha
They are not very plentiful in the classifieds tho, are they?

What would I look at paying for an Iron 883?

    My thinking:
    Iron 883
    Forward controls
    Rear footpegs
spare 2-seat for taking the missus
    Staggered Short-shots (Black)
....and when the power gets boring, or I get fatter, do a 1200 jobbie on it.

    mmmm...harley....

    Thanks for the welcomes ppl...
Reading back, maybe I should have clarified (After reading Phantom's advice):
I have owned bikes before (at one stage 1bike and 2cars all rego'd), so I've already taken into account the extra cost to run/maintain another vehicle..
Phantom: Thanks for the honest advice mate, must admit that most people don't think too logically when choosing to buy cars/bikes for fun.

    Cheers to all,
    Mark
