    G'day all,

I have been hearing lots of great things about Redline Shockproof oil for the gearbox. I also hear it comes in "light" and "heavy" could someone please tell me what the viscosity of the 2 types is, and which one would be best for an '86 Evo 5 speed gearbox? Thanks.

What Oz said...  it actually states on the container that it's good for up to 400,000 Kms..  but I think I'll change mine B4 that..

Thanks for the replies fellas, I went and bought a bottle of the heavy today, and it sure is a strange colour alright! Anyway I was talking to the guy in the shop about it and he said he sells by far the most of it to the Subaru WRX crowd, and the Harley and British bikes crowd comes in second. . Apparently it is the ducks guts for them as well as for Harleys (and probably lots of other things too). So. we'll see how how it goes over the next few weeks and I'll let ya know. Just as an aside, he also said he put it in his Commodore to see how it would go, and he said it was fantastic, it changed smoother than it ever did, but then, it would want to, because he said it took just over 6 litres, which cost $300!! WTF!! you can buy a good box at the wreckers for not much more than that!!
