SLOW DOWN & THINK

The nanny state is already legistlating us out of existence. Helmet laws, compulsory clothes, whatever is next.

We definitely should be dying in greater numbers, we have much less protection. Anyone who gets on a bike and doesnt realise and accept that there is 30 times more risk of death than in a car is a fuckwit.

Who gives a fuck if we kill ourselves way out of proportion? Why is the road toll such a big concern?? More men suicide than die on the roads. More men die of prostate cancer than die on the roads. If it was about saving lives surely the cops would be driving around with boxes of rubber gloves and lube examining prostates, and at the same time see if we need counselling because of suicidal thoughts.

People die all the time. On the road, sucking on a cigarette or falling into a combine harvester. The mortality rate of mankind is still a solid 100%.

I swear these pigs are on some good drugs. "it seems that if we dont threaten you people will die". Fucknuckle, people are threatened, people are over policed, people are driving slower than ever, and people are dying at a higher rate than ever. The stats dont lie, we never have gone slower, and yet we are still dying.

Police are frustrated? why do they keep doing the same thing again and again and expecting a different result? Thats just insane. The speed limit tolerances tighten and it makes fuck all difference. People still die, and yet no one seems to see the obvious conclusion. There is nothing safe about the speed limit. Relying on compliance with an arbitrary round number that applies equally to a 250kg motorcycle and a 65000kg b double to keep you safe? Man that is dumb.

Just popping my 2 cents in; I feel more motor cyclists are dying because there are more on the road than ever before. And its not the keen enthusiast rider anymore, its brain numb bean counters using bikes to save fuel and save on parking because of the economy. That’s why people are dying on two wheels, because they're only there to save money, not for the ride, sitting in traffic and are plain straight inexperienced for the road.

Hate to say it but 'Speed' IS the killer ; that and simple "Bad Ass Attiude" they drivers, riders even push bike riders get when they are on the road. (Opinion formed from 5 years of cutting ppl out of cars)

Speed cameras, well, if you really want ppl to slow down put a big sign up saying "SPEED CAMERA - SMILE IF YOUR SPEEDING, FREE PHOTO WITH FINE AT NO EXTRA COST"

Bit late to slow down two weeks after the event and they send it in the mail -

Maybe the problem is ppl think in Kilometers per hour instead of meters per second

Exampe: if you travel at 100 kph then you are travelling at 27.77 meters per sec; see something 50 m ahead and BANG all over in 2 secs

If you are doing 120 kph thats 33.33 mper sec, if your doing 245 thats 68.05 meters per sec; which is fast, fun and should only be done on a track day

Anyway, drive/ride to save yourself and the guy next to you, if we all did that then things would be different; but none will

    Cheers

And the laws are in place because of the ten foot tall, attitude filled, supposedly bulletproof people that continue to flout the law and take out our family and friends because they don't give a shit about themselves or anyone else.

When you experience the loss of someone you know and love, a total inocent in an event, due to the irisponsible action of someone else, then maybe, just maybe the penny will drop

If people want to speed and carry on like they're invincible, fine, but do it on the track where only you will suffer the concequences of your actions (understatement..... your family will suffer also)

Let me, my family, friends, everyone on this forum and the general public live.

    Deep breath.......white light

What a complete "KNOBHEAD" - on country roads it's not the speed, its the conditions of the roads

City folk should worry about the city and forget the country and reseach is always done with loaded questions

By the way, research suggest that 47.8% of all stat's are made up with the balance being fiction

yes speed kills and yes the faster you go the longer it takes to stop, BUT there are so many other variables in road crashes, road conditions, fatiuge, inattention, inexperiance, weather, animals/objects on road, etc etc, but all we hear about is speed.

almost every crash that you hear about is attributed to speed. if they were serious about road deaths the same amount of effort they put into stoping speeders should be put into fixing all the other causes, but theres no money in that is there.

the roads in this country are shit, and dispite all the speeding fines they are not getting any better, where is this money going?

I just love how they say Motorcyclists are killing themselves. A car crashes and it's victims of a car accident, a biker crashes and the motorcyclist killed himself.

The way they say 'killing themselves' is just so obviously their way of trying to make everyone look at motorbike riding as an unacceptable thing to do.

When I'm in a group I'm always the last one to arrive. Makes me feel useful since it's always handy for everyone else to have someone to bag (kidding because in fact no one has ever really given me a hard time over it). I've made it a discipline to just go easy and not get outside my comfort zone just for the sake of keeping up. Got a hunch that damaged pride hurts less than broken bones, especially since in the end its all just for fun so why push it.
