Just got the latest Live to Ride and they have an add in it. It mentions in the add that it's BYO? Confusing. maybe ring the number and ask????

Heard through the grape vine thats it's something to do with a very old law that cops are using that dates back to the horse drawn days, something to do with paying an admission fee to go on some ones private property to drink piss, maybe they could change the wording from admission fee to A DONATION OF $ what ever amount might cover it. Talk about the NANNY STATE!!!!!!!
I can't believe/understand why nobody is talking about this event. When you look at the list of events being held around Australia (the 2 page calendar publised in Live to Ride magazine each month) we seem to have very few events in WA when compared to our friends in NSW, Victoria, etc.. As a newbie to HD's (though I 've been riding bikes for 30 years), I would have thought we would have had heaps of discussion leading up to this event.
What am I missing?

But you are right, not mutch happens over here at all compared to the other states & they are the Policed states. Go figure????
It was in the "west Australian" the other day (our local medium of sensationalist bullshit) There is a law stating that you can't have a BYO event with out a limited liquor license if it is open to public access.
They have turned a blind eye for the last ten years because it is an outdated law and there is no trouble at this event normally for them to enforce it.
Sounds a lot like the latest shit going on from the guberment regarding 1% clubs - harass and try to intimidate the clubs.
