Cool is it an original bike?is it a runner? Mine is a 99% original,Did u buy it here in oz or import?Im wondering were they ever sold here thru the dealers?I havent seen any other than there is a few post classic and classic modified racebikes around
In all my years ive only ever seen a small handfull of rough traibikes sx175 sx250 and thats considering i owned a motorcycle shop/wreckers for 10years.Ive seen a few old racebikes apparently they were very competitive in their day,so i dont realy know if there are many out there send us pic if you get some spare time jacobs@internode.on.net i`l send u one back cheers

Good luck with your 125 restoration
just acquired a 73 SS350. know of anyone else out there with them? parts, etc?
Damien
BTW, mine was an Australian import, through Orm Snell in Townesville. I think a few were brought in, but not in big numbers as they were relatively expensive for a 350.
mine is restored and back on the road, not bad fun on a nice day
lovely. what a nice resto!
did you source the parts from the US? any trouble getting the indicators? or was it all there to start with?
also, are you running the siamesed exhaust header or a single? I am thinking about moving towards the single.
and yes, I figured it would be a fun run-about on a sunny day.
cheers,
damien
Parts for these are relatively easy, set up and save a search in ebay, the HD Sprint web site (see my other post above) - the indicator on mine are actually off a Honda CB250 (dont tell anyone) they are very similar but not the same. The twin exhaust is a copy of original and was from a guy in Italy how still makes them. That was the most expensive part for me, but I think the original exhaust design is a big part of the character of this bike.
good luck with yours mate
Thanks Donster - will do and, funnily enough, I had been thinking about using old Honda indicators if the originals weren't available.
Cheers,
sorry i got excited i miss a 0 on the end of the XR 1000 for Buell RR
The Buell has an alloy four speed 1200 engine. It was origianlly the big, bulbous ugly Battletwin, but I stripped off the original bodywork years ago, I think the last time it was photographed was for Streetbike magazine around 2001. Packing to go away right now, but I'll post something when backin a few weeks. The Sprint is up and running, although getting the stator rebuilt, and a general tidy-up. Not going down the original route, just make it look a bit prettier. Whenever you see the term 'barn find', keep in mind it was probably parked for a reason and has since spent decades under wet hay and cow manure.
Hey Andy, a neighbor fo mine has a Rapido (Melbourne) which he finally got up and running. The Aermacchi@Yahoogroups.com is a pretty good site for info on all of them, including occasional posts of pages from manuals, sales brochures, etc. There's so many more in the US and they tend to work out the problems eventually. Cheers, Damien
