I was wondering what is the best thing to do to guard against or temporarily repair punctures in tubeless tyres? I'm not real keen on the idea of being stuck in the middle of nowhere with a flat!

K, you can buy emergency puncture kits from most bike shops, about $70, they will work on tubeless tyres on solid rims, won't work on rims with spokes, should be enought to get you to a tyre repair shop

Hi keilor,  I live in a remote area and ride on dirt for quite a bit before hitting the blacktop so I know what you mean.

I'm also back on laced wheels so I have to carry tube type puncture repair gear.

Tubeless isn't as bad as far as roadside repairs go so long as the damage ain't too bad.

Quickest and easiest temp repair comes in the form of one of those pressurized cans of Woosh, Shoosh, or whatever.

I've seen them around in small sizes to suit Motorcycle sized tyres. Easy to use at the time, but messy afterwards to get back to square one.

If ya not keen on that type of temp repair, the next best thing if ya don't wanna take the wheel & tyre off is a small plug kit and an air pump of some sorts.

OK for small nail type holes but if ya score a stone fracture or split ya stuffed anyways. Internal patch is the only hope there.

Well stocked Motorcycle shops can usually supply small kits to suit your needs and pumps from small hand type to mini electric compressors.

A crowd called "Slime" seem to have it pretty well covered from what I have seen around.

As far as prevention, well the boys have already covered that !

(That little black card that comes with new Harleys now is also a good tool, so long as you're in range.)

A good tube-less tyre plug kit.
With a canister type inflator, the ones that use the little soda-streem type bottles.
    All very compact.

If your gonna buy one, make sure they are the T-bar type handles not the screwdriver type...
The T-bars are A hell of alot easier to use..
