    had a cackle when I saw these two together (Z1R & XLCR) - when I worked at Burglars & Stealers (Auburn) a million years ago I had a knob come in & trade an XLCR on a Z1R (in 1979) - couldn't get his bike fast enough - rode it to Canberra, Newcastle, Wollongong etc. For some reason I didn't try too hard to sell it

     have now run wiring and is looking OK.  have sourced an air cleaner and getting closer to getting on the road

    58-64 frames had top tubes run straight back to to about an inch below rear shock mounts, in 65 to accommodate electric starter these tubes were " bent" up and join the rear shock mount area at the top.
    Swingarm is shovel as well. All "glide " pans had round tubing for swingarm.
    HD only began stamping frame numbers late 69 on.

     cheers carbon fibre new the frame was 60s something still have the round swingarm in the shed just put this one on so could move the shock mounts back to lower it some

    Hard to believe but this is a Sturgis :( Need to start collecting the correct parts for it as its so sad how it is now.
