I just checked my rear tyre the other day, and after 16,500 km I noticed the tread was a bit low. Frankly it was non existant in the middle of the tyre.
So it's time to get a replacement. The tyre was a Dunlop MU85B16 77H (white wall). I do mostly highway driving on weekends (don't all Harley riders) I would like something that thats a hard feel and last long. I don't ride with a passenger. Should I get a wider tyre? Can I? As long as I can get "White Walls".
Has anyone got a good reccomendation?
Thanks in advance
If this forum would be similar to our USA HDF, I guess I should get my feet wet in the junior featherweight division of the "Which Oil Do You Use?" or "Explanation on the best motor , parts, and builder recommendations". Good is very subjective and may have no correlation to what you, as an individual call good. I what I call good: Metzler ME 880. The Good: Is fairly sticky, good traction, compliant sidewalls for a smoother ride, and is durable over road debris. Bad: Wears quicker (softer rubber = better traction & poorer mileage). I live in S. Florida where it is hot and the roads could cook eggs (I think but never tried). I will pay for the pluses (handling and comfort) with less than top mileage.
Damned forgot linky to METZLER Tire Guide on my DIY knowlage site page found here I believe they cost around $120 USD here in S. FLA
