I like the look of them PB, they kind of blend in with the batwing. Need to do something with the indicators though, colour sticks out like dog balls.

You can get smoked lenses. I don't mind the stds as they are very visible.....safety over fashion for me everyday.

This was my touring bike for 24 years, here's a pic of it out touring.
Waiting for the Daintree River ferry, heading north, August 98. I had hoped the croc warning sign would come out better.
Unfortunately the battery shook its plates loose the next day, before AGM batteries. After I left Cape Tribulation, I had to push start it half the time. Got to Cooktown  then across to Lakeland and up to Laura but wasn't game to go further with a junk battery, turned back to Cairns for a new one.

    My condolences to your spine...

Cool pic and an awesome bike. I have done some touring on a sporty and honestly I did not hate it.

Thanks UltraPete, my back appreciates your condolances
The Sporty has been around, it seems to like western NSW, and the Pilliga Scrub, the road down from Bourke to Wilcannia through Tilpa and Louth, it doesn't mind it's rider stopping for a beer at the Come by Chance store or crashing in a swag by the river across the road from the Nindigully pub. I mostly run 1/2 inch longer Konis, then Ikons to help the old back. It was a bit out of its depth during its trip to Fraser Island,  although handled the beach on a falling tide well, certainly no shortage of torque.

The bride and I had been riding our Dyna as a tourer for 5 years without complaint but when the dealer offered a trade price I couldn't refuse I had to upgrade to a new 2021 Road King Special. Below are some pics from a recent weekend road trip out to Nindigully Pub (Qlds oldest pub). The RKS is definitely a better bike for travelling distance two up but I do miss my Dyna at times.

So what did you have for dinner at the 'gully pub? Did you manage to finish it?
I had the mixed grill and had attracted a few spectators by the time I had finished.

Haven't been there since 2010, so it may have changed. They used to serve massively oversized meals as a bit of a tourist attraction. The roadtrain burger would feed 4 people.
I lobbed in on the Sporty  heading down to camp at Pilliga bore baths. Not many places still left with a dirt main street, camping reserve across the road from the pub on the banks of the Moonie River. Friday night, a mobile tower had been switched on that day so all under 25 had new phones and were downloading music, a V attractive Swedish barmaid was finishing up, visa about to expire, all the young blokes were drowning their sorrows and blueing, hoping to be the one to get lucky again, the place was packed, friendly and Rocking!
I am pretty good on the fang and after a few beers and a rum shot ignored the advice to order half a meal.Mixed grill, T bone, 2 lamb loin chops, pork chop, 4 big sausages, big chunk of lambs liver, 2 meatballs, 2 fried eggs, giant serve of chips and salad. It took me a while, but I finished and enjoyed it. Apparently that was rare, and I had some spectators by the end.
Had a fine night night of it, was invited to a pig hunt after midnight and when I said I was on a bike and had left my rifle at home, got a drunken chorus back that they were going out with knives and dogs.
Staggered back across the road and rolled out the swag on the river bank, passed out. Woke up at first light for a monster piss next to a gum tree, was in full stream when a caravan door opened about 20 yards away and a woman watched from the doorway for the full frontal duration of the draining.
Still wasn't hungry, so gave her a wave, packed the bike and rode on.  Went through Walgett, looked for a rock on the river bank there to throw across the river, wasn't any. Stopped for a beer at the Come by Chance store, Camped at the Pilliga borebath that night. Back to Obi the next day.  A great trip! The 'gully pub has pig races on 26th November, any one wanna meet up there?

Good story Steve and a bit of a relief, I was wondering if the pub was notorious for food poisoning or something.
Reminds me of a Steakhouse in Texas that advertises a Free 72oz steak....if you can eat in in under an hour, for miles in each direction on bill boards as you approach.
This little chick ate THREE in twenty minutes. She has not got very good table manners though.

    Eat like a girl!
Doesn't really look like she's enjoying the meal though.
Food poisoning?  Try the old Frewina roadhouse.  Although to be fair, both times were long long ago.  It must have improved since or customers would have burnt it down.

Bugga, misspelled it, Frewena roadhouse, North side of Barkly hwy near the Qld/NT border.
Waddya know, the food couldn't have improved, it was closed in 84.
    Chew and spew central.
Barry Caves roadhouse, a bit further back towards Threeways, with food just as bad was burned down in 79, making millions of blowies homeless.

Cheers Steve, was wondering why Frewina did not register on Google maps.
Oh boy!, I will bet there are bad tales out there about bad food bought at dodgy places while on the road.
I have a very nasty one from Darwin  but it makes for unsavoury forum material and don't want to ruin any ones day.

Barry Caves roadhouse after the 79 fire. Must have finally sold one too many fly blown burgers or pies to riders stopping for a feed.

You can't leave us in suspense FC.
    Let's hear about it.
    Talking about dodgy food,
I fed a stale sausage roll to a semi tame fox that hangs around at work the other night. Two minutes later he had the hiccups.
    Glad I didn't eat it.

    Hey bb.
I thought you were going to say it died!!

Q what's the difference between a fox and a dog.

    A about 5 beers

And I'm sorry, I don't "mean" to be constantly posting. It's just a target rich environment tonight.

Fair enough matey, just going to take a while to spin this horrible yarn together. Fuck! I feel like vomiting just reminiscing about it.
Got a day or two of shit weather coming up here to weave the words into a coherent package. So stay tuned.
