there really is no comparison, the stock seat is pretty comfy especially on longer hauls the LePera for me is not, anything more than a couple of hundred k's and i'd be putting the stock seat back on,

but for around town and looks, i like the Bare bones solo, i also have the leather Badlander, but i really like the seating posi of the LePera now, and am quite partial to the way it is , JMHO.

My 2012 Slim. Previously owned 89 softail standard, 89 softail springer, 47 chopped servicar and a 2000 nightrain. The nightrain was a fantastic bike but after a few minor changes, the slim will be by far the best I've owned. The ground clearance with the footboards is an an issue but I'll be putting foward controls and pullback risers on the slim soon.

Nice looking Slim there GetWilder ... does anyone know if the Cats Eye dash will fit a 2008 fxstc ... i know the cats eye dash came out on the 2008 cross bones and i am hoping the tanks are the same as there was a small difference 2007 back ... would like to do a straight swap and have been told it is possible with some mods ... i realise most things are possible but would rather not have to modify my 2008 softail tanks if at all possible .

Did you buy new? If so how did you remove the protective plastic on the rear guard under the pillion seat?

It seems to be extremely sticky and leaves behind a goo when I try and peel it off. how did you get it off?

yeah new 2011, first bike sold at Perth Harley Davidson, its on their Facebook page.

Yep took the protective plastic off, waited for a warm day, bit of help from a hairdryer, came off no problems

 I took the protective cover off as well as I have the brawler seat on 95% of the time. Just peel off with a hair dryer then use eucalyptus oil to take off the remaining gummy shit. I then gave the whole area a light hand cut and then finished with a polish. Looks a shitload better.

Mods gonna have to wait, got pinged with an EPA Noise notice by some uniformed arsehole, now im having to dump good money into switching pipes back an forth just to get clearance notice, what a dog, go catch some real criminals

Hey guys , i reckon this has been brought up before but was courious as to how someone can dob you in for loud exhaust , unless of course it is the boys in blue pulling you over on the side of the road of course ... elmodog1 was saying he was hit with a epa notice , is this Australia wide ... is it possible for a brief explanation of how this can happen .

Hi Tim, this is EXACTLY how it happened, i was waiting to turn right at an intersection, an unmarked cop car was waiting to make the same turn and was located on my left (opposite side to my pipes)
When we got an arrow to go, i made sure he was ahead of me so as to avoid this very issue arising, we again came to a stop about half a k down the road (same positions), he then took off in chase of someone else and pulled then up to book them, i went past not fast so as to keep quiet, this was on boxing day at about lunchtime as i was on my way back from the cemetary to see my dear old mum.

I will now read out EXACTLY what the EPA Notice says,
Whereas the vehicle was OBSERVED( Nothing Else) in Canterbury Road at approx 12.26 December 2012, and whereas a report has been lodged by a member of the Victoria Police indicating that the vehicle was considered to be either excessivly noisy, or to have had a faulty exhaust system.

Therefore persuant to the Act etc etc etc etc, so as you can see ive been charged, and convicted for something i have had NO oppertunity to defend myself against, regardless of what the actual EPA Test reading may be, this dog of a copper could have sensitive hearing, or it could have been an accumulation of various noises, and having NOT been pulled over to at least be advised of a potential issue, leaves a bad taste in my mouth

I used to be a supporter of the coppers, they have a hard job at times, now they can all co FK emselves, there all lapdogs for a shitbag government who only cafes about revenue raising Fuck em all

thanks for the reply Elmodog1 ... unbelievable how bad it is getting here in this surspossed free country ... had my car tagged / graffiti painted on it couple of nights ago along with fence , inside my property ... rang police to see if they knew the tag ID , they gave me some crap about how hard it was to catch and convict these people ... i politetly said that if i caught the little arseholes in the act i would kick there arses ... cop said i would be charged if that was to happen and i shouldnt take the law into my own hands ... i said i wouldnt have to if the police did there job ... he didnt like that and crapped on and i hung up in his ear ... FUCK EM .

I noticed you are in Vic. ... i wonder if they can do the same up here in Qld. ... wouldnt surprise me .
